Applications open for Alliance Pipeline's next Charity Partners initiative
CALGARY, July 22, 2014 /CNW/ - Calgary-based not-for-profits will again have an opportunity to be selected as the next Alliance Pipeline Charity Partner.
Alliance's Charity Partners program engages the company's Calgary office employees in selecting a local charity and, through the employees' fundraising and volunteer efforts, helping to financially support the community organization's work over a two-year partnership. Alliance matches its employees' contributions dollar-for-dollar.
To be chosen as Alliance's next Charity Partner, Calgary community not-for-profits are encouraged to submit a short video via YouTube or Facebook showing how they would put to good use funding of up to $200,000 over two years. Videos will be shared publicly via social media, and Alliance employees will vote to identify a single charity of choice.
"Alliance Pipeline believes in giving back to our community," said Debra Corroll, Alliance Vice President, Human Resources and Corporate Services. "Through this unique employee-giving initiative, Alliance employees are involved in choosing the charity they feel will make a lasting difference in Calgary and also get actively engaged by contributing their own time and donations."
Alliance's first Charity Partners association with Calgary's Inn From the Cold recently concluded, raising over $222,000 to support the effort to end homelessness in Calgary.
Applications for Charity Partners are open until August 28, 2014.
