Apply today for environmental project funding through TD Friends of the Environment Foundation
CALGARY, March 7, 2013 /CNW/ - Does your organization require funding for a local environmental project? TD Friends of the Environment Foundation (TD FEF) is inviting Alberta-based non-profit organizations, First Nations communities, municipalities and schools to apply for environmental funding before March 15.
Each year, TD FEF encourages non-profit organizations with a charitable registration number, First Nations communities, municipalities and schools to apply for funding directly online at www.TDFEF.com. The primary funding areas include environmental education, urban greening and enhancing biodiversity and energy conservation.
"More than 100,000 Canadians, including TD customers and employees, donate monthly to TD FEF and TD contributes an additional $1 million annually to the foundation," said Mandip Kharod, Regional Manager, TD Friends of the Environment Foundation. "Every dollar donated goes directly to funding environmental projects in the community where the donation was made."
An average TD FEF grant is approximately $2,500, however, funding requests are needs-based and there is no set amount for which applicants can apply.
With the support of over 140,000 donors, TD FEF has provided more than $60 million to support over 21,000 environmental projects across Canada since 1990.
