Appointment to Ontario Heritage Trust Board
TORONTO, Aug. 25 /CNW/ - Dr. Thomas H.B. Symons, Chairman of the Ontario Heritage Trust, is pleased to announce a new appointment to the Ontario Heritage Trust's Board of Directors.
Donna Gilhooly, Thunder Bay Ms. Gilhooly has a deep commitment to northwestern Ontario and a long-standing interest in the culture and heritage of the region. She led the preservation of the C.W. Parker Carousel at Chippewa Park, built between 1918 and 1920 - and one of only three Parker carousels remaining in North America - which resulted in its designation under the Ontario Heritage Act in 1991. A former member and vice-chair of the board of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, Ms. Gilhooly is a member of the Thunder Bay Waterfront Development Committee.
