OTTAWA, May 20, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - The Honourable Lisa Raitt, Minister of Transport, today announced the appointment of Ms. Tracy Buckler of Thunder Bay, Ontario, to the Board of Directors of the Thunder Bay Port Authority for a term of three years.
Ms. Buckler has been with St. Joseph's Care Group since 1985, and has been the organization's President and Chief Executive Officer for the past 10 years. She holds a nursing diploma from Sault College in Sault Ste. Marie, a Post-RN Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, and a Master of Health Studies – Leadership from Athabasca University in Alberta.
During her career, Ms. Buckler has been involved in several health organizations: Canadian College of Health Leaders, Northwest Health Network and Alliance, Catholic Health Association of Ontario, Northern Ontario School of Medicine, Ambassadors Northwest, and Accreditation Canada.
She has been named Executive of the Year by Northern Ontario Business (Influential Women of Northern Ontario). She has also received an Alumni Honour Award from Lakehead University and was nominated for an Ontario Premier's Award from Sault College.
Ms. Buckler and her team have received the Not-for-Profit Excellence and Environmental Stewardship Awards from the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce and the Quality Healthcare Workplace Gold Award and the Overall Leadership – Green Healthcare Award from the Ontario Hospital Association.
