OTTAWA, Oct. 14 /CNW/ - The Honourable Chuck Strahl, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, and the Honourable Rob Merrifield, Minister of State (Transport), today announced the appointments of Mr. David Kirsop and Mr. Ross Goldsworthy to the board of directors of Ridley Terminals Inc.
"Both Mr. Kirsop and Mr. Goldsworthy bring a great deal of expertise to the table," said Minister Strahl. "Their insight will greatly benefit Ridley Terminals."
Mr. Kirsop holds a bachelor's degree in applied science from the University of British Columbia. Since 1988, he has been a partner with Urban Systems Ltd., a multi-disciplinary consulting firm with expertise in civil engineering, urban planning and landscape architecture. In addition to being a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia, he is a member of the American Water Works Association, and the British Columbia Water and Waste Association. Mr. Kirsop lives in Delta, B.C.
Mr. Goldsworthy holds a bachelor's degree in commerce and a master's degree in business administration from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and became a certified public accountant in 1999. He holds a certificate in conflict resolution and is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors. Mr. Goldsworthy is a former vice-president of Canadian National Railway and has been president of R. Goldsworthy Consulting Ltd. since 2007. He lives in Calgary.
"I am pleased Mr. Kirsop and Mr. Goldsworthy have agreed to serve on the board of Ridley Terminals Inc.," said Minister Merrifield. "They both possess a strong mix of executive and operational experience that will be tremendous assets to Ridley Terminals."
Ridley Terminals Inc. is a federal Crown corporation that operates a bulk-handling terminal for the efficient and reliable movement of coal and other bulk commodities between trains and ships, on land leased from the Prince Rupert Port Authority.
