OTTAWA, April 11, 2016 /CNW/ - The Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC) is proud to announce that Joanne Slaney, AACI, P.App and Clifford Smirl, AACI, P.App are the winners of the Top Appraiser under 40 award. The recipients were chosen based on their career accomplishments, contribution to AIC and to the valuation profession, as well as their volunteerism within their community.
Ms. Slaney is currently the Director and General Manager of Altus Group in St. John's Newfoundland; Mr. Smirl is a partner at Kent MacPherson Appraisals Inc. in Kelowna, British Columbia. Both recipients have exceled in their careers and undertaken leadership positions within their respective organizations as well as within AIC. The Top Appraiser Under 40 award program was launched in 2016 to recognize exceptional young appraisal professionals who are making significant accomplishments within the appraisal profession and their community.
