Vancouver
2010 Olympic Downhill Skier,
Kelly Vanderbeek
, joins Booty Camp Fitness Inc. CEO,
Sammie Kennedy
, to inspire Canadians on how to achieve a fulfilling year in 2010. With January being just days away, New Year's Resolutions are at the forefront of Canadians' minds. Too often, many people end up making the same resolutions as years past.
Vanderbeek will be participating in her second Olympic Winter Games this February. At the 2006 Games, she picked up a fourth place finish in the Super G event, missing out on medaling by only 0.03 of a second. Kelly, with three world cup podiums behind her, looks towards
Vancouver
2010 as the motivation to aspire to greatness.
"During tough training days I often think of my childhood dream of standing on top of the podium, hearing Canada's national anthem being played, seeing our flag raised," says Vanderbeek. "Now, that picture in my mind is in
Vancouver
. It continues to bring passionate tears to my eyes."
In just a few short years, Kennedy has journeyed from being an average girl to becoming a fitness model, ranking as of the top five personal trainers in both
Canada
and the US and launching a nationally successful fitness company.
As creator and CEO of Booty Camp Fitness,
Sammie Kennedy
has been recognized on PROFIT magazine's W100 as one of the Top Emerging Women Entrepreneurs and by Women's Post as one of Canada's Most Notable Women of 2009. Kennedy is available to share her motivational strategies including:
- Three Goals, Three Rewards
- Leveraging the Power of Why
- Give-up Goals vs Go-For-It Goals
"As a New Year's Resolution in
January 2005
, I decided to transform my body and five years later that former goal has stayed a reality for me," says Kennedy. "Being able to translate that success to a national business that helps thousands of women across the country achieve their own goals is one of the most rewarding accomplishments of my life."
Both Vanderbeek and Kennedy are available in
Vancouver
for interviews on
December 23rd
to share their expertise and strategies on how to develop realistic goals and just as importantly, how to stay motivated and committed to achieving them throughout the year.
