Aptuit LLC Targets Scandinavian Life Science Prospects at Stockholm Events
GREENWICH, Conn., June 11, 2014 /CNW/ - Aptuit LLC has made a significant outreach to life science companies in Scandinavia through two important events that were held in Stockholm, Sweden this May.
At an R&D event hosted by the Karolinska Institute Science Park, Dr. Jonathan Goldman, Aptuit's Chief Executive Officer, addressed the eleven different companies that attended the seminar, including Karo BIO, Medivir, Aprea AB and Karolinska Development. Dr. Goldman spoke on The Evolution of the Drug Development Space and the Important Role of CROs. The keynote speaker, Professor Maria Anvret, FRCPath, Senior Advisor and board member of numerous, prestigious Boards in Sweden and the EU, discussed the growing life science landscape in Sweden.
Another high profile event took place at the private residence of Paul Johnston, the British Ambassador to Sweden. In attendance were 26 industry leaders, CEOs and EVPs representing the decision makers of targeted companies, inclined to benefit from Aptuit's substantial drug discovery and development capabilities. Ambassador Johnston said of the gathering, "One of the cornerstones of the UK government's Life Science strategy involves promoting the UK's world class translational research expertise and clinical trial facilities. This event allowed us to raise Aptuit's profile in Sweden by facilitating introductions to key Swedish Biotech stakeholders and companies interested in outsourcing clinical research to the UK. I am pleased that we at the Embassy could be a part of hosting such a successful event and we look forward to working with Aptuit again in the future."
A number of confirmed client meetings were generated from the event, and this has led to Dr. Goldman's consideration that this model can be applied to key biotech and pharma hubs in the United States, including San Francisco, Boston and San Diego.
The event held at Ambassador Johnston's residence was organized by Christina Bergstrand, Senior Advisor at UKTI, and Heidi Pavliska, Aptuit's Regional Director. Heidi was also instrumental in the initiation and organization of the R&D event.
