MONTREAL, Oct. 23, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - With more than 1,600 members, the Quebec Association of IT Freelancers (AQIII) today launched a new self-start business guide: The Quick Start Business Startup Guide for ICT Freelancers. Available on its website, this free eBook is intended for professionals in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) who are considering starting a business or who have recently set up their businesses. The goal of the guide: To enable consultants specializing in ICT to quickly access new mandates, which are readily available on the market, by starting their businesses easily and in the best conditions.
As a sign of the growing demand for consulting services in ICT, AQIII receives and posts every month hundreds of offers of mandates, both tactical and strategic, from various recruiters and companies. Many of these mandates cannot be met quickly due to the lack of availability of its members.
In this bustling context, the Business Startup Guide for ICT Freelancers is timely and will encourage ICT consultants to engage in building a business without hesitation, with the enthusiastic support of a network of members and partners from the association.
The new eBook is aimed at ICT professionals located in Quebec who wish to start an incorporated small business in the field of professional ICT services. It offers a tailored approach and a simplified 20-step checklist. Here are the main milestones:
- Determine the legal form of the company and get it up and running
- Quickly develop the required administrative structure
- Obtain warrants without delay
- Protect the corporation's interests and your work
- Ensure your financial stability
" The IT labour shortage announced is quite real today. AQIII is proud to help ICT freelancers get in touch with recruiters and companies. The greater purpose of our association is also illustrated by the impressive growth of its membership: over 222% in the last five years alone. AQIII's services and the networking opportunities provided between members and partners save time and money to all and insure that our micro-entrepreneurs are well-protected and represented, " said Serge Calixte, AQIII's newly appointed Chairman of the board.
" It's up to us to send a clear message: Freelance computer work is the way of the future. AQIII is here to grow and promote the profession of ICT freelancers, as well as to help independent consultants gain access to mandates, recruiters and companies in need of highly qualified IT specialists, " adds Serge Calixte enthusiastically.
The publication of the eBook has received support from several partners, including it's major partner MédicAssurance, as well as Socogi and Services financiers Jean Duranleau. It also received a federal grant provided by the Department of Canadian Heritage.
