New leader will focus on helping Canadian businesses thrive in digitally connected era
TORONTO, Jan. 29, 2019 /CNW/ - KPMG in Canada announced today that Armughan Ahmad has joined the firm as the Canadian Managing Partner of digital and technology solutions to build upon and expand the digital transformation services KPMG provides its clients, including: Digital Customer Experience; Enterprise Solutions, Hybrid Cloud; AI / Data Analytics; Cyber Security; Privacy; Blockchain, and Internet of Things.
"With disruptive technologies rapidly changing the business landscape across the globe, large and small Canadian businesses need comprehensive digital strategies to adapt to changing client demands and to remain competitive in order to win in this digitally connected era," says Elio Luongo, Chief Executive Officer and Senior Partner at KPMG in Canada. "Armughan and the team will be key in helping our clients, as well as the broader Canadian economy, transform and adopt connected digital solutions to succeed in a fast evolving environment."
"To stay relevant in an increasingly technology-forward environment, Canadian business has needed to quickly adapt to changing demographics and ever-evolving consumer and employee experiences," notes Ahmad. "While many have made significant strides by automating parts of their businesses, incremental change is not enough to win in today's digital first global competitive environment."
Ahmad believes Canadian businesses have the potential to be at the forefront of the digital evolution but it will require industry, government, start up and academia to work together. "Our task is to raise awareness and help bring our nation's strengths together to grow our knowledge-based economy. I think the potential is here for our economy to add tens of thousands of highly skilled, highly paid jobs if we get all stakeholders working in-sync. At KPMG alone, we expect to add more than a thousand roles in the space in the next few years."
