VANCOUVER, May 17, 2017 /CNW/ - The fifth annual ARThritis Soirée presented by City Square Shopping Centre to benefit critically needed arthritis research is taking place tomorrow (May 18th) at The Roof, Hotel Vancouver.
The annual signature event gets underway at 7:00 pm and brings together business and community leaders, philanthropists, doctors, scientists, health care professionals, and those who share a passion for art and a desire to support arthritis research. The evening will be co-emceed by Fred Lee from CBC, Vancouver Courier, The Province's Man About Town, and Robin Gill, Global National's weekend anchor and British Columbia correspondent.
Why ARThritis Soirée? Research has shown art as therapeutic and adding to one's wellbeing, and is therefore a great element in managing chronic disease on a holistic level. This year, the ARThritis Soirée celebrates the art of music with a Canadian-first. Guests will be treated to world-renowned violinist Jenny Bae, performing with members of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. Arthritis Research Canada is thrilled to welcome Jenny and have her share her extraordinary talent for the benefit of arthritis research.
"I am pleased to join Arthritis Research Canada in their efforts to raise awareness and funds for leading edge arthritis research. Supporting a cause that touches so many lives in Canada and around the world gives me great satisfaction." - Jenny Bae
In addition to enjoying the amazing talents of Jenny Bae, guests will delight in an evening of champagne, fabulous hors d'oeuvres, BC wines, oyster and caviar bars, along with an amazing raffle, and tempting live and silent auctions. All dollars raised will go directly to supporting arthritis research. Arthritis is now the most costly chronic disease in Canada and the number one reason for workplace disability. With over 5.2 million Canadians affected by the more than 100 forms of arthritis support for research has never been more important. Arthritis Research Canada is grateful for all of the sponsors, guests and donors who have come together to make this evening possible and to help reduce the burden of arthritis.
