Artis Announces Exercise of Over-allotment Option

WINNIPEG, Aug. 10, 2012 /CNW/ - Artis Real Estate Investment Trust (TSX: AX.UN) ("Artis") announced today that, pursuant to the exercise in full of the underwriters' over-allotment option granted in connection with its previously announced public offering of Cumulative 5-Year Rate Reset Preferred Trust Units, Series A, (the "Series A Units"), Artis issued an additional 450,000 Series A Units at a price of $25 per Series A Unit for additional gross proceeds to Artis of $11,250,000. The offering was underwritten by a syndicate of underwriters led by RBC Capital Markets, CIBC and Macquarie Capital Markets Canada Ltd.
Artis intends to use the net proceeds from the offering to fund future acquisitions, repay indebtedness, and for general trust purposes.
