Arvizio Announces Microsoft HoloLens Solution for FARO LiDAR Scans
Allows customers to process and view optimized FARO point clouds in mixed reality
OTTAWA, Aug. 14, 2018 /CNW/ - Arvizio announces the integration and support of optimized point cloud formats from FARO 3D scanners with their MR Studio™ mixed reality software platform. The incorporation of FARO point cloud data demonstrates Arvizio's continued commitment to deliver augmented and mixed reality solutions aimed at improving the way people work in industries such as AEC, Energy, Industrial Design, Surveying, Mining and Oil and Gas.
MR Studio is an enterprise level solution designed to provide multi-user and multi-site mixed reality experiences for working with 3D CAD/BIM models and real-world 3D LiDAR scans. Features include the ability to walk through designs at life size, align models with the real world for AR and MR digital twin scenarios and conduct virtual design reviews with multiple participants across locations sharing a synchronized view.
FARO 3D laser scanners capture scenes in the form of point clouds which wearable headset devices are unable to render directly due to the high density of the captured data. Arvizio's MR Studio Director can now automatically process and optimize FARO point cloud scan data enabling customers to view, interact and collaborate with LiDAR scans using mixed reality headsets.
"With the increased adoption of augmented and mixed reality, the ability to visualize large, complex real world scans will play a critical role in all phases of future design projects," said Jonathan Reeves, CEO at Arvizio. "We are pleased to extend our MR Studio platform to encompass an exciting new range of capabilities for our customers."
Arvizio is a Microsoft Mixed Reality Partner and will be demonstrating MR Studio at MWC Americas 2018, at the Los Angeles Convention Center, September 12 -14. For more information, visit: arvizio.io
