Assembly of First Nations National Chief Congratulates Bobby Cameron on Election as Chief of the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations and Regional Chief for the AFN Français
OTTAWA, Oct. 30, 2015 /CNW/ - Assembly of First Nations (AFN) National Chief Perry Bellegarde congratulates Bobby Cameron on his election as Chief of the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations (FSIN) and welcomes him to the AFN National Executive as Regional Chief for Saskatchewan.
"I offer congratulations to newly-elected Regional Chief Cameron and look forward to working with him to address the many priorities facing First Nation communities in the Saskatchewan region and across the country, especially implementing and protecting Treaty rights," said AFN National Chief Perry Bellegarde. "I congratulate as well FSIN First Vice-Chief Kimberly Jonathan, Second Vice-Chief Bob Merasty and Third-Vice Chief Edward 'Dutch' Lerat who will now be proudly serving Saskatchewan First Nations. I want to lift up all those who put their names forward in these elections. I look forward to working with Regional Chief Cameron and all the leadership in Saskatchewan."
Regional Chief Bobby Cameron was elected yesterday at the FSIN Election Assembly in Saskatoon. He is a member of the Witchekan Lake First Nation, part of the Agency Chiefs Tribal Council. Most recently, he was working as Second Vice-Chief of the FSIN. The Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations represents 74 First Nations in Saskatchewan.
