Astek Group Opens New Office in Toronto, Plans to Create 100 Jobs
Astek Group Strategically Chose Toronto for the Expansion of Their Business in Canada
TORONTO, Sept. 30, 2014 /CNW/ - After successfully launching their North American headquarters in Montréal, Toronto was the natural choice for Astek Group to open their next Canadian office as a gateway to the North American market.
Founded in 1988, Astek Group is an international and independent French consulting company, which has become a major player in the IT and engineering services industry, with more than 2,500 engineers and IT experts around the world, and operations on four continents (their offices are based in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East, and Africa). As a Golden Partner to many Fortune 500 companies in the aerospace, telecom and media, financial, pharma and transportation sectors, Astek Group supports its clients by providing IT solutions and consulting support in scientific and technical engineering for inshore and offshore projects.
Astek Group has chosen a Toronto location for access to Toronto's multicultural and multilingual workforce, and for its strategic location as a global hub for business where the headquarters of the world's largest corporations are located. Astek Group plans to expand its workforce to approximately 100 local employees over the next five years.
"The Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and the province of Ontario are home to many of the largest companies in the world, working to achieve outstanding results in efficiency, security and innovation. Acquiring a Toronto location will ensure that we are in the best position to anticipate the technological challenges our GTA clients might have, and offer the best solutions working with the highest level of talent in the field," said Yoann Rouleau, VP Astek Canada and International CEO for Astek Group. "Toronto is the ideal destination for our next Canadian location, and we are very proud to have our first stronghold in the GTA."
Mr. Rouleau continued: "We are grateful to the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development, Employment and Infrastructure (MEDEI) and to Invest Toronto, for their invaluable assistance in providing key information and services that enabled Astek to reach this strategic decision."
"I am pleased Astek International decided to set up operations in Toronto," said Brad Duguid, Minister of Economic Development, Employment and Infrastructure. "Astek will now have access to Ontario's incredibly skilled and diverse workforce in Canada's largest ICT cluster. We are continuing to create a positive climate for businesses such as Astek International in Ontario to attract investments and create jobs now and for the future."
"Invest Toronto was pleased to work with Astek Group throughout the process of setting up their business in our City, and we couldn't be happier to welcome them to Toronto," said Renato Discenza, President and CEO of Invest Toronto. "Astek Group now has access to a highly educated and talented workforce, the most diverse economy in the country, and a thriving and innovative technology industry to expand their operations and bring their successful approach to the North American Market."
