MONTRÉAL, Oct. 18, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - The costumes are ready and the kids are excited about going trick or treating around the neighbourhood. But we have a fabulous way to help you extend the fun all month long. Until October 31, Montréal Space for Life invites families to look at the world through a child's eyes as they celebrate our huge Halloween party in style. Once again this year, the Main Exhibition Greenhouse is full of hundreds of pumpkins decorated by members of the public, visitors of all ages are learning about spiders in a whole new light and daring youngsters are exploring the Little Monsters Courtyard. The Biodôme, Botanical Garden and Insectarium are pulling out all the stops to offer young and old alike a flurry of colourful Halloween discoveries and fun!
BOTANICAL GARDEN – The Cucurbitaceae are the belles of the Great Pumpkin Ball
Just for the occasion, our friendly witch Esmeralda, an urban gardener in her free time, is throwing open the doors to her fabulous estate with over 800 incredible pumpkins. Meanwhile, over at the Squash Kiosk, some wacky, misshapen vegetables are the stars. Keep going and you'll come to the Little Monsters Courtyard, where the kids can tackle the Tricky River and the Shaky Bridge. And don't miss the play for our youngest visitors – Pépo citrouille is back for one last season.
INSECTARIUM – Eight-legged fun with Spiders Unmasked
Halloween is the perfect time to get up close and personal with these attractive, accomplished hunters. Don't be shy as our spiders and their cousins put their best leg forward: Touch them for yourself and see just how docile and irresistible they are! And just to add a little flair, three costumes straight out of the Cirque du Soleil OVO show are on display on the museum's first level. They're real works of art.
BIODÔME – On October 29 and 30, our animals will be getting some tasty treats
At Halloween, treats aren't just for kids! There are surprises in store for our mammals, fish and birds as well. But they'll have to use all their senses and abilities to unwrap their gifts and get to their favourite foods, hidden carefully away in pumpkin-shaped containers. It's a great way to build their skills!

These four prestigious municipal institutions form Canada's largest natural science museum complex. Together, they are launching a daring, creative urban movement, urging everyone to rethink the connection between humankind and nature and cultivate a new way of living.
