ATN acquires exclusive Canadian Broadcast rights for Hockey World League Finals 2015
TORONTO, Nov. 27, 2015 /CNW/ - Asian Television Network International Limited (ATN) (TSX-V-SAT), Canada's largest South Asian Broadcaster, is pleased to announce that it has acquired exclusive Broadcast rights for the Men's Hockey World League Finals to be held in Raipur, India from November 27 – December 6, 2015 & Women's Hockey World League Finals to be held in Rosario, Argentina from December 5 – December 13, 2015.
The Hockey World League is an action-packed competition which gives every hockey-playing nation a chance to go all the way to the Hockey World Cup and the Olympic Games. Typified by its "Make Your Mark" slogan, the Hockey World League invites every hockey-playing nation to take part. It allows even the smallest ones to dream of writing their own chapter in hockey's history books. It builds heroes as fresh talent bursts onto the scene. Established nations feel the heat as rising superpowers threaten to install a new world order.
The Men's & Women's Hockey World League Final will see eight top class international teams battle in a bid to claim the title and secure a ticket to the prestigious FIH Champions Trophy in 2016. The event features two pools of four followed by quarter-finals, semi-finals, classification and medal matches. Following the round-robin, all eight teams will move into the crossover quarter-final phase, with the pool winners meeting the fourth-placed team from the opposite pool. The #2 and #3 finishers will also face-off in the knock-out quarter-final. The Winners of the quarter-final matches will move into semi-finals and the medal games, with the losing teams playing for placement.
