ATN reports a great first quarter
TORONTO, May 31 /CNW/ - Asian Television Network International Limited (ATN) (TSX-SAT) Canada's largest South Asian Broadcaster and Canada's largest distributor of World Class Cricket, is pleased to announce its operating results for the first quarter of 2010 with a profit before tax of over a half million dollars, an increase over the first quarter of 2009 of almost $200,000.
"This increase reflects the overall growth of our business and is setting the trend for the future," said Shan Chandrasekar, President and CEO of ATN.
Byrne Fulton, ATN's Chief Financial Officer, noted with pride that the company is also now debt free. "We are pleased to report the full and final payment of our long term debt on the 27th of May," he said.
ATN operates 23 television channels as well as the ATN Asian Radio on XM 159, the only Satellite Radio channel serving North America's South Asian Diaspora.
