Upcoming titles include a new reality series featuring one of Canada's most successful businesswomen and content creators, Elisabeth Rioux; the first-look photo from the highly anticipated revival of Nuit Blanche; two upcoming NHL documentaries, Chosen One: Alexandre Daigleand Saving Sakic; the announcement of the French Canadian cast members of the upcoming heist series The Sticky; the all-star cast of Season Two of LOL: Qui rira le dernier?; and the immediate release of Juste pour rire's sold-out flagship event L'ultime gala—available to stream now. The second collaboration between Prime Video and Juste pour rire TV, the flagship comedy event, L'ultime gala is available now for Prime members. Filmed on July 20 to a sold-out crowd at the Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier in Place des Arts during the 41st edition of Juste pour rire Montréal, the show represented the festival's last-ever French-language comedy gala in its traditional form, marking the end of the concept after over 40 years. The one-of-a-kind special features over 30 of Quebec's favourite artists, including legendary comedian Yvon Deschamps, who comes out of retirement to be part of this historic moment.
Filming is currently underway in Montreal for the return of the French-language fan-favourite scripted drama and murder mystery, Nuit Blanche. As previously announced, in a first for Canada, Prime Video partnered with Séries Plus, a specialty channel owned by Canadian media company Corus Entertainment, to revive the popular drama. The second season will launch in 2024.
Filled with even more paranoia and intrigue, Season Two continues to follow the Hébert family in two time frames—one in the present, as they investigate the murder of the family's matriarch, and the family's past, this time set in the 1980s. Cast rejoining for Season Two features esteemed actress, host, and singer, France Castel, and Rose-Marie Perreault, who reprise their joint role of LouLou Hébert, Marilyse Bourke, Jean-Philippe Perras, Ron Lea, Stéphanie Colle, Orphée Ladouceur-Nguyen, Iannicko N'Doua, Jean-Moïse Martin, Christian Jadah, Nico Racicot, Antoine Pilon, Michel Rivard, Jean-Nicolas Verreault, Isabelle Brouillette, Élodie Grenier, Kim Despatis, Simon Pigeon, Marie-France Lambert, Lisette Guertin, Richard Fréchette, Mélanie Ghanimé, and Bruno Verdoni. The English-language documentary, set to premiere in 2024, Chosen One: Alexandre Daigle chronicles how a record-setting junior hockey star—charismatic, French-speaking teenager Alexandre Daigle—was positioned to become a saviour for both the city of Ottawa and the Senators, a team that desperately needed goals and fans. With overwhelming expectations, Daigle fell short of what the team and fans had envisioned. Decades later, Daigle reflects on how he navigated the gap between people's projections and his every day existence to love life and hockey while living with the fans' pronouncement of his failure.
The English-language documentary Saving Sakic launches in early 2024 on Prime Video. In the documentary, Colorado Avalanche Chairman/CEO Charlie Lyons needs money in a hurry. The New York Rangers have made an unprecedented offer to Joe Sakic, the captain, and lifeblood of his Lyons' NHL franchise. Now Lyons has seven days to find $15 million, or lose everything he's spent years building. The Sticky
Previously announced, The Sticky is the Québec-set, English-language fictional comedy series inspired by the true story dubbed the "Great Canadian Maple Syrup Heist," which made headlines around the world in 2012. As announced at Prime Video Presents Quebec, French-Canadian cast members Guy Nadon, Suzanne Clément, Mickaël Gouin, and Jean-François Provençal will join the previously announced cast, which includes Margo Martindale, Chris Diamantopoulos, Guillaume Cyr, and guest star Jamie Lee Curtis.
Premiering in 2024, the series is produced by Blumhouse Television, whose recent releases include series The Horror of Dolores Roach and horror-comedy Totally Killer both on Prime Video, Megamix, Comet Pictures, and Sphere Media.
