Government of Canada awards $10M in financial assistance to maintain snowmobile and cross-country ski trails

Tourism contributes to the economic diversification of Quebec regions and Canada. The Government of Canada's support for tourism activities generates significant direct economic benefits for the middle class in the regions.
The Honourable Diane Lebouthillier, Member of Parliament for Gaspésie–Les Îles-de-la-Madeleine and Minister of National Revenue, and Rémi Massé, Member of Parliament for Avignon–La Mitis–Matane–Matapédia, acting on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, today announced the launch of the Winter Tourism Initiative, which is meant to increase spinoff from tourists visiting from outside Quebec.
This special initiative has an envelope of $10M under the Quebec Economic Development Program and will help with the acquisition of equipment needed to maintain snowmobile and cross-country ski trails.
