AutoShare to Offer Chevrolet Vehicles at Student-friendly $6 Hourly Rates
TORONTO, Sept. 8, 2015 /CNW/ - With the first day of term just around the corner, AutoShare and Chevrolet Canada have teamed up to provide university students across Toronto with an easy, accessible and affordable transportation opportunity throughout the school year. As part of the partnership, Chevrolet will exclusively provide AutoShare with 16 Chevrolet vehicles to be used in their fleet at Ryerson University, the University of Toronto, and York University. This partnership represents the first time AutoShare, part of the Enterprise CarShare network, will be available on university campuses.
As part of this program, the registration fees are waived for students at the three university campuses courtesy of Chevrolet. In addition, AutoShare users on these campuses will receive $6 hourly driving rates on all available Chevrolet models, which is an average savings of 35 – 40 percent compared against standard rates.
"We understand that students need to head off campus from time-to-time, whether it's to get groceries or explore Toronto's vibrant culture with friends, so we're thrilled to help them do that with a convenient and affordable transportation alternative," said Steve Tudela, vice president and general manager of Enterprise in Ontario. "Partnering with Chevrolet allows us to provide students with a variety of fantastic vehicles at low hourly rates so they have the benefits of a personal car but only pay for the vehicle when they need it."
AutoShare and Chevrolet will be providing students at Ryerson University, the University of Toronto (Downtown Campus), and York University (Keele Campus) with a total of 16 vehicles comprised of the 2015 Chevrolet Cruze, Sonic and Trax.
"We are thrilled to be working with AutoShare to provide university students in Toronto with this unique opportunity to find new roads, both on and off the campus," said John Roth, GM Canada's VP of sales, service and marketing. "This partnership provides around-the-clock access to a range of fun-to-drive and stylish Chevrolets that feature the latest in-vehicle connectivity, perfect for safely staying connected while getting around busy cities like Toronto."
Students can apply for AutoShare membership online at www.autoshare.com/university or on campus throughout September with the AutoShare street team.
