Avigilon Promotes Engineering Leader and Expands Executive Team with Seasoned Experts in Key Departments
VANCOUVER, Feb. 5, 2014 /CNW/ - Avigilon Corporation ("Avigilon") (TSX:AVO), a leader in end-to-end surveillance solutions, today announced the promotion of Danny Kam to executive vice president of engineering and the expansion of Avigilon's executive team to include: Joel Schuster, vice president of legal and corporate secretary; Terry Neely, senior vice president of emerging technology; and Angela Baldonero, vice president of people, formerly known as the human resources department.

Mr. Kam, Mr. Schuster, Mr. Neely and Ms. Baldonero will report directly to Mr. Fernandes.
Danny Kam, executive vice president of engineering
Since joining Avigilon in January 2013, Mr. Kam has been instrumental in the successful execution of Avigilon's product roadmap and the expansion and development of its engineering team to support the company's global growth. Highlights of projects completed under Mr. Kam's leadership include: the launch the Avigilon Control Center 5.0 software, Avigilon's high-definition cameras with LightCatcher technology, and the HD Micro Dome camera. Over the past year, Mr. Kam doubled the number of employees within the engineering department at Avigilon, implementing an effective and scalable structure with dedicated teams to support product innovation.
Joel Schuster, vice president of legal and corporate secretary
Mr. Schuster has more than 12 years of experience in the legal sector. Since joining Avigilon, Mr. Schuster has been instrumental in completing major projects while working closely with and supporting the executive team. In his new role, Mr. Schuster will head Avigilon's legal department, overseeing all legal, regulatory and corporate governance matters on a global basis.
Terry Neely, senior vice president of emerging technology
Mr. Neely has more than 25 years of experience developing applications for a variety of industries, specializing in databases, networking and access control systems. Mr. Neely, founder of RedCloud Security, Inc., acquired by Avigilon in 2013, continues to be instrumental in the successful integration of access control to Avigilon's product portfolio. As senior vice president of emerging technology, Mr. Neely will be responsible for researching and developing leading edge, innovative technology.
Angela Baldonero, vice president of people
Ms. Baldonero has more than 17 years of experience in human resources, building scalable, high-performing teams. As vice president of people, Ms. Baldonero will continue to expand the people department at Avigilon and will be responsible for employee relations on a global basis, overseeing the development and implementation of corporate people strategies and programs worldwide. Prior to Avigilon, Ms. Baldonero spent seven years as senior vice president of people and client success for a rapidly growing technology company based in New York, which received several workplace recognition awards under her leadership.
