Avigilon Promotes Pedro Simoes to Executive Management Team to Lead Global Sales Growth

VANCOUVER, April 2, 2014 /CNW/ - Avigilon Corporation ("Avigilon" or "the Company") (TSX:AVO), a global leader in end-to-end security solutions, today announced the promotion of Pedro Simoes to the Company's executive management team, effective immediately. Mr. Simoes will report directly to Avigilon's chief operating officer, Bryan Schmode.

Since joining Avigilon in 2009, Mr. Simoes continues to be instrumental in the growth of the Avigilon team in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America and the Company's sales worldwide. In November 2013, Mr. Simoes was promoted to senior vice president of global sales, and has since further contributed to Avigilon's record-breaking results. Avigilon recently announced its 2013 fourth quarter and year-end results with sales revenue reaching $178.3 million. Up approximately 78% from 2012, these results marked Avigilon's most successful year yet.

With more than 12 years of experience in the security solution industry, Pedro Simoes has extensive experience managing international sales across many countries and cultures. Based in Dallas, Texas, the headquarters for Avigilon's global sales team as well as their U.S. headquarters, Mr. Simoes is responsible for leading Avigilon's salesforce and driving revenue worldwide. Prior to Avigilon, Mr. Simoes was a key sales executive at several leading companies in the security industry where he demonstrated success in providing leadership and innovation to organizations. As a result of his executive level relationships with strategic clients and partners and his extensive experience with access control and video surveillance product offerings, Mr. Simoes has established a track record of success opening new markets and driving robust and sustainable growth.
