Avison Young hires top leasing broker Christopher Brown to join Toronto
leasing group

TORONTO , Nov. 18 /CNW/ - Mark Fieder, President and Managing Director, Ontario of Avison Young, announced today the hiring of one of Toronto's top leasing brokers, Christopher Brown , as a Vice-President in Avison Young's Toronto leasing group.

Brown joins Avison Young from global real estate services firm DTZ Barnicke, where he was most recently Vice-President, Leasing in the Toronto office of the company's Canadian operations.

Effective immediately, Brown will join Avison Young's Toronto leasing team, based in downtown Toronto , to add further strength to the Toronto operation and help develop and service major corporate real estate clients across Canada .

Brown's career in commercial real estate extends beyond 30 years, beginning in 1979 at John Shortill Ltd., a Toronto firm at the time. In his seven years at the firm, Brown established a record of achievement by completing numerous design-build solutions for local and international firms, including Sharp Electronics' Canadian headquarters in Mississauga, Ontario.

In addition, Brown was one of the first in Canada to graduate from the U.S.-based Realtors National Marketing Institute and, in 1982, he obtained the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation. In 1986, he joined J.J. Banicke Ltd. (now DTZ Barnicke) where he excelled, achieving Chairman's Circle status year after year.

Brown has been recognized in the industry for signature office leasing assignments in Toronto and across the country. These include large and complex lease renewal/relocations on behalf of national financial services and law firms, in addition to telecommunications and financial regulatory agencies.
