Aviva Investors builds Canada team with new hires in Investment Management
and Sales
DES MOINES, Oct. 21 /CNW/ - Aviva Investors has announced the hiring of three new executives in its institutional investment management business in Canada:
- Julie Perks - Vice President, Risk & Liability Driven Investing
- Sunil Shah - Vice President and Fixed Income Portfolio Manager
- Naoum Tabet - Managing Director and Vice President, Investment Sales
Doug MacDonald, President of Aviva Investors Canada, Inc., said, "We are very excited that Julie, Sunil and Naoum have joined the Aviva Investors team in Toronto. Julie Perks, Vice President, Risk & Liability Driven Investing, is responsible for risk management, which includes derivative solutions, quantitative risk and liability-driven investing for Canadian clients. She has 25 years of financial industry experience, most recently at Genesis Financial Products where she was a Principal Actuary. Prior to Genesis, Julie was with TD Asset Management as a senior fixed income portfolio manager and has worked at both Sun Life Financial and Manulife Financial in senior actuarial and investment roles. Julie holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Financial Risk Manager (FRM) and Professional Risk Manager (PRM) designations, and is a fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries.
Sunil Shah, Vice President and Fixed Income Portfolio Manager, is responsible for the management of all Canadian fixed income portfolios. Sunil has more than 15 years of financial industry experience as both a portfolio manager and credit analyst. Most recently, he was Managing Director and Head of Fixed Income for Sceptre Investment Counsel. His experience includes analyst roles at Canadian Bond Rating Service and Standard and Poor's, and the position of Director and Head of Canadian Corporate Debt Research for RBC Capital Markets. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Naoum Tabet, Managing Director and Vice President, Investment Sales, is responsible for sales and business development with institutional investors in Canada. Naoum joined Aviva Investors in 2008 in the UK, where he previously was a Client Portfolio Manager for fixed income. He has more than eight years of financial industry experience, both in the UK and in Canada. Prior to joining Aviva Investors, Naoum held several business development roles at Standard Life Investments and CIBC Global Asset Management, both in Montreal, Quebec. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the Montreal CFA Society.
