Award-winning journalist joins Compass Rose public affairs team - Former Hill Times online editor Bea Vongdouangchanh now communications manager
OTTAWA, April 17, 2016 /CNW/ - Compass Rose is pleased to announce that award-winning journalist Bea Vongdouangchanh is joining the collective as communications manager effective immediately.
At a time when governments, bureaucracies and public affairs landscapes are becoming more complex to navigate and understand, Vongdouangchanh brings more than a decade of experience on Parliament Hill to help meet the public policy and communications needs of Compass Rose clients.
Jacquie LaRocque launched the public affairs collective with a view to delivering for its clients including pulling together the best talent in the communications and government relations industries. Having Vongdouangchanh play a senior role in-house will further the company's core principles (http://compassrosegroup.org/our-culture/).
"My goal for Compass Rose is to bring clients the best solutions and the best team possible. I'm excited to have Bea join and complement an already strong team. I have known Bea for a long time; she's a constant professional who understands the industry and what motivates governments and people. Her talent and experience will make her an integral part of Compass Rose," said LaRocque.
Vongdouangchanh has spent the last 15 years working in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. She joins Compass Rose from Hill Times Publishing, where she spent the last year as The Hill Times' online editor helping to grow the politics and government newsweekly's digital and social media presence, and Power & Influence magazine editor leading the publication's rebranding to bring important stories about the people, places and ideas influencing the country to readers. She will bring her research skills, her expertise in parliamentary affairs including legislative procedure and her ability to dissect public policy issues into easy-to-understand opportunities to Compass Rose and its clients.
"I am thrilled to be joining Compass Rose, a dynamic and growing collective. I've been covering politics and public policy on the Hill for more than a decade and am looking forward to using this experience to help Compass Rose clients. Although I will miss journalism, I am excited by this new challenge and the opportunity to work with Jacquie, one of the best consultants in the nation's capital," said Vongdouangchanh.
