In recognition of outstanding work: IPC, the global association for the printed circuit board and electronics industry, honors three iPoint employees
REUTLINGEN, Germany, May 28, 2014 /CNW/ - With the "Distinguished Committee Service Award", the Association Connecting Electronics Industries (IPC) honored Joerg Walden, CEO of iPoint-systems, as well as Achim Schrempp and Andreas Schiffleitner, Project and Product Managers at iPoint. They were awarded for their outstanding voluntary contributions to the Conflict Minerals Task Group that developed IPC-1755, a standard for exchanging Conflict Minerals data.

The association IPC published IPC-1755 in March 2014. It is compatible with Version 3.0 of the CFSI Conflict Minerals Reporting Template and makes it easier for suppliers and their customers to exchange Conflict Minerals data along the entire global supply chain. IPC-1755 includes easy-to-understand terms and definitions, descriptions of declaration classes as well as the data requirements for a Conflict Minerals declaration. It also provides guidance for verification. These standards enable more efficient communication in the supply chain - making it much easier to track the origins of tantalum, tin, tungsten, and gold contained in the products and to exclude non-conflict-free minerals.
The new version of the iPoint Conflict Minerals Platform (iPCMP), which is available soon, offers IPC-1755 compatibility. With over 16,000 registered companies, the iPCMP has developed into a cross-industry standard solution for Conflict Minerals reporting.
