/CNW Telbec/ - In response to the state of emergency in the wake of the powerful earthquake that hit
Haiti
, AXA has donated
$20,000
to the Canadian Red Cross to support the various measures being implemented to help the victims.
The earthquake, which occurred on
January 12
, destroyed thousands of lives and caused the collapse of roofs, shelters and buildings. AXA's donation will contribute to the search, evacuation and rescue efforts as well as provide shelter, clean water and medical support to the victims.
As a gesture of solidarity with the Haitians struck by this tragedy, AXA is asking its employees who wish to do so, as well as its entire brokerage network, to assist the Red Cross relief efforts by making a financial donation to the Red Cross

Earthquake Fund. Donations may be made online at www.redcross.ca/helpnow, by calling toll free 1 800 418-1111 or in person at any Red Cross office.
In this way, AXA is adding its voice to that of thousands of others in solidarity with the people of
Haiti
to help them get back on their feet as quickly as possible.
