Axia Announces Appointment of William H. Smith to Board of Directors
CALGARY, May 17, 2013 /CNW/ - Axia NetMedia Corporation (Axia) is pleased to announce that William H. Smith has been appointed to Axia's board of directors (Board), effective May 17, 2013.
Mr. Smith brings over 30 years of experience in the areas of corporate finance and governance to the Board. Mr. Smith has spent his career in private practice at a leading Canadian law firm and other firms focused in the areas of corporate finance and M&A transactions. Mr. Smith also served as Executive Vice President of a LSE and TSX 300 listed international oil company and has been a senior advisor to many domestic and international companies. Mr. Smith is Vice Chair of Mosaic Capital Corporation, a director of Orca Exploration Group Ltd. and a director and corporate secretary of PFB Corporation. Mr. Smith is also a member of the Advisory Board of the National Research Council/Industrial Research Assistance Program and a director of Foundation CMG.
Axia also announces that Mr. Charles Brown has resigned from the Board, effective May 16, 2013. "On behalf of Axia and the Board, I would like to express our thanks to Charles for his years of contributions to Axia and we wish him continued success," said Arthur Price, Axia's Chief Executive Officer and Chair of the Board.
