Canadian study finds that over half of new moms are concerned about the sensitivity of their baby's skin
TORONTO, Oct. 20 /CNW/ - As parents mentally tick things off their baby checklist, little time is spent considering the cost of these items on the pocketbook. According to a recent study1 commissioned by Pampers, mothers consider diapers and wipes to be the biggest overall expense for new parents with products that are "clinically proven to be mild for babies' sensitive skin", such as Pampers Sensitive wipes, ranking the highest among purchase importance.
"Having a baby is an exciting and overwhelming time for expectant parents," says writer and new mom Ashley Bennion. "Between working, running errands and regular health check-ups, there is little time to think about what happens once the baby comes home so receiving practical gifts such as diapers and wipes is really helpful. "
From baby showers to decorating the nursery, expectant mothers work hard to ensure that their home is ready for their bundle of joy. And with the majority of mothers considering diapers and wipes the most useful gift to receive as a new parent, it's a good idea to include hypoallergenic products to ensure products suit babies' sensitive skin.
In fact, in the study, four out of 10 mothers claim that their baby's skin is sensitive. For babies who need extra care for their bottoms, four out of five moms would recommend Pampers Sensitive diapers and wipes to a friend.
"Make sure that the products you use for baby are tailored to your baby's needs," says Canadian dermatologist Dr. Kucy Pon. "Hypoallergenic products are always the safest bet as they are designed to be gentle for baby's sensitive skin."
