Bacardí Rum brings the sights, tastes & sounds of Old Havana to Toronto with 2-day pop-up restaurant
Introducing the Bacardi Paladar: a Cuban inspired restaurant and rum bar featuring Toronto chef Matty Matheson + Miami's Eileen Andrade
TORONTO, Oct. 2, 2015 /CNW/ - BACARDÍ rum, the world's most awarded spirit, announces the upcoming BACARDÍ Paladar, an exclusive two-day only Cuban pop-up restaurant and rum bar, celebrating the launch of BACARDÍ Gran Reserva Maestro and the newly re-packaged BACARDÍ Ocho Años rum.
A rare creative collaboration between Toronto-based chef Matty Matheson, of Parts & Labor, and Miami-based third generation Cuban chef, Eileen Andrade, of highly-acclaimed Miami restaurant Finka Table & Tap, the BACARDÍ Paladar will be a merging of these two culinary forces. The duo will be popping up at Toronto hotspot, Cold Tea Bar in Kensington Market October 28 and 29, and transporting guests to old world Havana for this special two-night experience.
"BACARDI has a deep appreciation for the culinary arts so it was natural to bring together Matty and Eileen to create a completely unique and authentic experience for consumers," says Lisa Mazurkewich, Brand Director for BACARDÍ Canada. "The BACARDÍ Paladar embodies the spirit of our brand: Cuban heritage combined with a passion for excellence and creativity. This will be an evening unlike any other."
The BACARDÍ Paladar menu will feature a Cuban-inspired family-style feast created by Matheson and Andrade accompanied by the unveiling of the signature BACARDÍ cocktail menu featuring a handcrafted lineup of BACARDÍ Maestro and Ocho Años cocktails. The BACARDÍ Paladar further evokes the history of old world Havana nightlife as guests are treated to live Latin music and dancing.
The BACARDÍ Paladar celebrates Bacardi Gran Reserva: BACARDI's premium White and Amber spirit line, consisting of BACARDÍ Maestro and BACARDÍ Ocho Años. BACARDÍ Maestro utilizes over 150 years of rum making expertise and is double aged for a smooth taste. The liquid is ideal for mixing drinks while also being smooth enough to enjoy on its own. Originating in 1862, BACARDÍ Ocho Años was the first party rum from the Bacardi Family. Every drop of this limited supply has been aged for a minimum of eight years under the intense head of the Caribbean sun accelerating the process and developing a flavor of a liquid aged for three times as long.
Reservations for the BACARDÍ Paladar will be made available to the public. Follow @BacardiCanada to be amongst the first to get the link to book seats at a flat, all-inclusive cost of $75 CAD per person. Spaces are limited.
