QUÉBEC CITY, Aug. 29, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The Québec Federation of Parents' Committees (FCPQ) would like to wish all students and workers in the field of education a great school year. ‟For thousands of students, this is the first week of school. They are happy and eager to see their old classmates and talk about what they did over the summer. It's a day of celebration. And especially so for four-year-old kindergarteners. It will be completely new for them," said FCPQ president Gaston Rioux.
Mr. Rioux added: ‟I am extending these wishes for an excellent school year to everyone—students, teachers, non-teaching professionals, principals and other staff. May it be stimulating, enriching, and one of success and magnificent achievement. I hope that more parents than ever will feel called to give of their time in order to contribute to the life of their school community and do their part to foster the success of our young people."
Profile of the FCPQ
For over 35 years, the FCPQ has brought together Parents' Committees from every school board in Québec and has supported the parent volunteers committed to parent participation in public elementary and secondary schools.
