BACKTOCEGEP.COM: A NEW WEBSITE HELPING ADULTS GET BACK TO CEGEP
MONTREAL, Sept. 1 /CNW Telbec/ - Today the management teams of the Continuing Education and Corporate Services Departments of Québec's 48 public colleges, united in the Fédération des cégeps, are launching a new website: backtocegep.com. Designed for adults seeking to continue their education, streamline their skills or redirect their career, as well as for companies with specific training or development needs, this new online search and reference tool presents all continuing education services currently offered in CEGEPS across Québec.
"The launch of this new online platform and, on a broader scale, of the Back to CEGEP campaign last spring crystallizes the public college network's will to play a leading role in the education and skill training of Québec adults," said Ms. Brigitte Bourdages, President of the Commission des affaires de la formation continue of the Fédération des cégeps and Director, Continuing Education at Cégep Marie-Victorin. "In a highly competitive context in which the participation rate of the Québec workforce in job training activities is woefully insufficient, CEGEPS joined forces to encourage more adults to educate themselves further or choose another path. As such, the new website is a useful tool for those planning to go back to CEGEP or companies wishing to train their employees."
Here are a few features available at backtocegep.com:
- a user-friendly search engine enabling users to launch queries by CEGEP, by region or by sector of activity;
- comprehensive, regularly-updated information on continuing education programs, including short-term, long-term, full-time and part-time programs;
- information on custom and remote education programs;
- information on corporate services offered in Québec's 48 public colleges, as well as direct links to said services;
- information on recognition of acquiered competencies, as well as financial assistance programs;
- everything you need to know to get ready to go back to CEGEP.
The Back to CEGEP campaign continues this fall with the broadcast of new TV commercials across Québec, as well as new ads in specific print publications. Besides the launch of backtocegep.com, the campaign's Web initiative also includes, among other, YouTube videos and a Facebook page dedicated to continuing education at the CEGEP level.
