OTTAWA, April 30, 2012 /CNW/ - The Governor of the Bank of Canada, Mark Carney, will participate in a photo opportunity to unveil Canada's new $20 polymer bank note on Wednesday, 2 May 2012.
The $20 bank note is the most circulated denomination in Canada. The new $20 polymer note pays tribute to the contributions and sacrifices of Canadian men and women in all military conflicts, and will feature an updated portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II on the front, and the Canadian National Vimy Memorial on the back.

On the Polymer series The Bank of Canada issued the $100 bank notes in November 2011, followed by the $50 note in March 2012. The $20 note will be issued later this year and the remaining bank notes in the series will be issued by the end of 2013. |
