Banks in Canada rally to support Canadian Red Cross' Flood Relief Efforts in Ontario, Québec and New Brunswick Français
TORONTO, April 30, 2019 /CNW/ - Ten banks have come together to help the Canadian Red Cross provide emergency relief and support for communities impacted by flooding in Ontario, Québec and New Brunswick. Support includes opening branch locations and online networks for donations from Canadians.
Banks are also making corporate contributions and some banks are arranging special payment options for people impacted by the floods.
The Red Cross is responding to the heightened risk of flooding because of winter thaw and steady rains that have put several communities at risk. The Red Cross has additional volunteers and supplies pre-positioned and ready to be deployed, if needed.
