Barbara Budd to moderate final transit union Town Hall meeting this Sunday
DOWNSVIEW, ON, April 27 /CNW/ - Long-time co-host of CBC Radio's As It Happens, Barbara Budd, will be the Moderator at the last of three Town Hall meetings conducted by Toronto's transit union, ATU Local 113.
The meeting will take place at Ryerson University's Library Lecture Theatre this Sunday, May 2, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Admission is free on a first-come, first-seated basis. The venue seats just over 300.
As with previous meetings in Downsview and Scarborough, four frontline TTC workers, along with union president Bob Kinnear, will be on stage with the Moderator to answer audience questions and concerns about TTC service.
"We're very pleased that Barbara Budd has agreed to moderate this final meeting," says Kinnear. "She's well-known to so many people who are interested in public affairs and there is no doubt that she will be both interesting and even-handed in conducting this public discussion about an important public service."
The meeting will be webcast live through the union's website: WeMoveToronto.ca.
On Monday, May 3 at 7:00 p.m., Bob Kinnear will appear on Goldhawk Live on Rogers TV to discuss what was learned at the town hall meetings. Rogers will rebroadcast the Ryerson meeting at 8:00 p.m., following Goldhawk Live.
