Barbara Fraser joins Board of Directors of Manitoba Telecom Services Inc.
Jocelyne M. Côté-O'Hara Retiring After 17 Years of Service
WINNIPEG, Sept. 17, 2014, /CNW/ - (TSX: MBT) Manitoba Telecom Services Inc. (the "Company", including its two operating subsidiaries "MTS" and "Allstream") today announced that Barbara Fraser has been appointed to the Company's Board of Directors. Jocelyne M. Côté-O'Hara is retiring after 17 years of service.
Jocelyne M. Côté-O'Hara joined the Board of Directors of the Company in 1997 and has served on the Human Resources and Governance and Nominating Committees. "I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Ms. Côté-O'Hara for her service to our shareholders and the Company," said David Leith, the Company's Chair of the Board. Ms. Côté-O'Hara has had more than 30 years in the telecom and technology industries as an executive, director and advisor including appointments as Vice President of BC Tel and President and CEO of Stentor Alliance Company.
Ms. Fraser has extensive Board experience and continues to serve on the Boards of Ivey School of Business, Gerber Life Insurance Company, MD Life Insurance Company, and Economical Insurance Group. She has been honoured as Ivey Board Member Emeritus for her distinguished service and inducted into the Academy of Women Achievers, YWCA of the City of New York.

Ms. Fraser invested the first twenty-four years of her career at Procter & Gamble, where she was the fastest rising woman in the marketing ranks, and ultimately, ran both the Paper and Beauty Care Products businesses in Canada as General Manager. She has held a number of executive positions including as Chairman & CEO of Citicorp Investment Services and Citicorp Insurance Group and as Chairman & CEO of IDS Life Insurance Company.
The Board of Directors of the Company continues to be comprised of 11 Directors, four of whom are women.
