MUNICH, Aug. 18 /CNW/ - The Siemens Festival Night 2010 presents Wagner's "Valkyrie" to opera fans worldwide. The real-time web stream on the Internet makes Richard Wagner's music available for users of all ages and interests all over the globe. An on-demand version of "The Valkyrie" will be online for registered users between August 22 to September 5. Depending on the user's computer facilities, the viewer can enjoy the opera in high-resolution HD video quality and surround sound.
The real-time web stream is accessible for EUR 14.90 (payable by credit card, ClickandBuy or Paypal) at http://www.siemens.com/festivalnight and starts on August 21, 2010, 4:00p.m. (CEST). A telephone hotline in English (+49(0)40-646-046-627) can be reached daily from 8:00a.m. to 10:00p.m. and even 24-hours from August 20 to 22.
For the first time the Siemens Festival Night presents two operas at the public viewing event in Bayreuth. At 11:30a.m. the children's opera "Tannhaeuser and the Singers' Contest at Wartburg" will be shown on a 90 m2 large LED screen followed by the real-time transmission of "The Valkyrie" at 4:00p.m. A special program is offered for children as well: On the Wagner-Adventure Trail children can explore the opera of Wagner through age-related activities.
This Festival Night is a cooperative effort of the Siemens AG and the Siemens Stiftung. It brings together long-time and potential Wagner fans of all ages in front of the screen and on the Internet.
