Bayshore Home Health named one of Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies
MISSISSAUGA, ON, Feb. 16 /CNW/ - Bayshore Home Health, Canada's largest provider of home and community health services, has been named one of Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies for 2009. It initially won the designation in 2006 and met rigorous standards to requalify in 2007 and 2008.
"Over the last ten years we've successfully transformed Bayshore Home Health into the leader in home health care," says Stuart Cottrelle, president of Bayshore Home Health. "Sound business strategies, a customer focus and a commitment to leadership development have allowed us to achieve our goals and gain the recognition of this prominent business award for four years in a row."
Bayshore's success and recognition as one of Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies rests on four key business principles: a culture of commitment; a diversified business model; a strong national presence; and ensuring its branches are part of the communities they serve. Of these four principles, a culture of commitment has been the biggest factor in the company's success.
"All of our 8,000 employees are passionate about providing a consistent level of service to our clients that goes above and beyond typical expectations," adds Cottrelle. "We are constantly evaluating how to improve client care and customer service while encouraging our front-line employees to take risks and try different business approaches."
"Today's market place is not just about the investment in the product; it is also about the investment in the people," says John Hughes, Partner, Private Company Services group with Deloitte, a national sponsor of the Best Managed program. "Bayshore Home Health invests in their team to build up a strong and stable company. Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies carries this attribute and we are pleased to say Bayshore is one of this year's recipients."
2009 winners of the Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies award, along with Requalified and Platinum Club members will be honoured at the annual Best Managed gala in Toronto on March 8, 2010. On the same date, the Best Managed symposium will address leading edge business issues that are key to the success of today's business leaders.
About Canada's Best Managed Companies
Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies continues to be the mark of excellence for Canadian-owned and managed companies with revenues over $10 million. The awards are granted on three levels: 1) Best Managed winner (one of the 50 new winners selected each year); 2) Requalified member (repeat winners retain the Best Managed designation for two additional years, subject to annual operational and financial review); 3) Platinum Club member (winners that maintain Best Managed status for a minimum of six consecutive years).
