BC Games Society Seeks Participants for Youth Leadership Academy
This is an opportunity for students in Grades 9 and 10, from all parts of British Columbia, to learn about the Olympic Movement, Olympic values, individual leadership styles and abilities, and how to tackle projects and issues with teamwork. Successful candidates will have demonstrated their leadership abilities and interest in sport and Olympic values in their schools and communities.
During the Academy, delegates will hear Olympians and Paralympians speak about their experiences inside and outside major competition - and how they embrace Olympic values in everyday life. The delegates also participate in workshops and group work projects during the four-day event that include goal setting, team building, event management, and discussions on issues from the Olympic and Paralympic Movements. Other highlights include a "Dinner of Champions" and participating in the BC Winter Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies.
Travel to and from the Academy will be arranged by the BC Games Society. To learn more about the BC Olympic and Paralympic Youth Leadership Academy, please go to www.bcacademy.ca or download the application directly from: http://www.bcgames.org/dotnetnuke/ApplyfortheAcademy/tabid/346/Default.aspx
