New Restaurant Experience of the Future serves up more than 2,000 local jobs
VANCOUVER, Dec. 1, 2016 /CNW/ - Today, McDonald's restaurants across the province will officially unveil the Restaurant Experience of the Future. From Victoria to Fort St. John, guests are invited in restaurant to taste and see the modern difference with McCafé® Bakery, digital ordering kiosks, table delivery and the Build Your Own Burger concept.
"Since opening our first restaurant in 1967, we've been dedicated to serving Canadians quality food alongside a memorable restaurant experience," said Shelly Hansen, Western Regional Vice President, McDonald's Canada. "We've listened to the evolving needs and taste buds of our guests, to design and deliver a modernized dining experience rooted in the personalization and customization Canadians crave."
Using self-order kiosks, guests can customize classics like the Big Mac®, or choose to Build Your Own Burger with options that include different toppings like guacamole, caramelized onions, hickory-smoked bacon strips and natural cheddar cheese. Guests can also look forward to fresh new McCafé Bakery offerings, featuring authentic French croissants and Mini Chocolatines filled with chocolate in every bite.
Guests will also be treated to table delivery, allowing them to sit down and enjoy their drinks while they wait for their burger creation to arrive. New Guest Experience Leaders will also be on hand to engage with guests and greet them from hello to goodbye.
With these new positions, processes and technology, McDonald's and its franchisees are investing between $200,000 and $250,000, and hiring 10 to 15 employees in each of the 140 participating restaurants to create more than 2,000 local jobs.
"Our new experience of the future is all about our guests and what they are looking for – from more traditional menu items to new customizable offerings. We invite all BC'ers to taste and see for themselves what's different at their local McDonald's," said local McDonald's Franchisee, Andy Bates.
