BCAA appoints Tim Condon as new President and Chief Executive Officer

    
    Former Canadian Tire executive to succeed Bill Bullis who retires later
    this year
    

BURNABY, BC, Oct. 22 /CNW/ - British Columbia Automobile Association Board Chair Brian Minter today announced the appointment of Tim Condon as BCAA's new President and CEO. Condon, who assumes the post on December 14 , succeeds Bill Bullis who is retiring later this year after a distinguished 14-year career with BCAA.

Condon, 47, joins BCAA following a successful 17-year tenure with Canadian Tire where he most recently served as Chief Strategy Officer, a role in which he was accountable for corporate strategy, acquisitions, new business ventures and the corporation's environmental strategy.

Minter says Condon is well suited to lead BCAA, a diversified consumer services organization with nearly 790,000 members and deep roots in communities throughout the province. "BCAA has built a strong brand and customer base over the past century, and Tim has a solid background in brand marketing, customer service and new business development," says Minter. "These complementary competencies combined with his experience in businesses similar to BCAA's make him an excellent fit to lead BCAA into the future delivering innovative products and services, as well as a positive and memorable experience for our members and customers."

Previously, Condon championed the launch of Canadian Tire's retail banking venture, and led a number of the company's business units, including the insurance and emergency roadside assistance businesses along with an award-winning customer service centre. He was also President of Comp-U-Card Canada , a wholly owned travel subsidiary of Canadian Tire Financial Services.

He is also a past President of the Board of Directors for Family and Children's Services Niagara and a former member of the Advisory Board for the Brock University Business School.
