BCAA receives Greatest Impact Award from United Way for helping make communities stronger
BURNABY, BC, April 2, 2013 /CNW/ - The British Columbia Automobile Association (BCAA) is proud to receive the United Way Greatest Impact Award in the large organization category for the success of its 2012 United Way Workplace Campaign.
The Greatest Impact Award recognizes commitment, leadership and creativity in volunteerism and fundraising efforts. The award also recognizes impact: BCAA's 2012 Workplace Campaign overall employee giving equalled 50 per cent of the organization's gross payroll for one day.
"I am extremely proud of BCAA team members for fostering a spirit of giving and raising awareness of the critical needs of the communities in which we live and serve our members," says Tim Condon, BCAA President and CEO. "All of this was made possible through the enthusiasm of our campaign volunteers and employees' strong desire to make a meaningful impact in the lives of people in our communities. The BCAA team is honoured to receive this recognition from the United Way."
A long time Campaign supporter, BCAA has seen a rise in its employee participation and donations during the organization's Workplace Campaigns. To give employees more opportunity to play an active role in giving back to their communities, BCAA introduced its new employee volunteer program which provides them with paid time off to help at a registered charity of their choice.
During this year's Campaign, employees raised funds through activities and pledge forms to help local United Way branches provide and support social programs needed in communities across B.C.
