BCAA Wins Two Best Employer Awards
BURNABY, BC, Nov. 10, 2017 /CNW/ - In a double-win, BCAA has achieved two prestigious awards recognizing the BC-based organization with over 1,300 employees, as a best employer in Canada.
Aon has announced BCAA as a 2018 Canadian Best Employer, for creating and sustaining a highly engaged workforce. This is the 8th time in 11 years that BCAA has achieved Best Employer status. The award results from a comprehensive study with BCAA's employees across BC, measuring their level of engagement with the organization; and comparing scores against organizations across Canada. BCAA achieved gold level by performing strongly in four indices: employee engagement, leadership, employer brand and performance culture.
As a 2018 Canadian Best Employer for Recent Graduates, the respected Mediacorp Top Employers research team has recognized BCAA for programs, initiatives and benefits that are relevant and appealing to today's fresh, young talent entering the workforce.
BCAA was specifically commended for training and career development programs, which span a wide range of roles and disciplines – including auto technician apprenticeships and licensed insurance training. It also provides good opportunities to grow and progress within the organization, supported by leadership training and coaching; and offers competitive pay and benefits for graduate entry positions.
Shom Sen, BCAA's President and CEO, commented, "Our team is the heart of our business – it's only because of them that we can be there whenever our Members need us. That's why these two best employer awards mean so much. Investing in our people – including providing opportunities to learn and grow at every stage throughout their career – is one way we make BCAA a great place to work."
BCAA offers a wide range of careers across BC, reaching far beyond its original auto club roots. An active part of BC's innovation scene, BCAA created Evo Car Share in Vancouver, and is a partner of BC Tech, recently sponsoring a hackathon for entrepreneurs to explore some big-thinking new business ideas. As well as growing its in-house tech and innovation capabilities, career opportunities are as diverse as marketing, finance, insurance, service positions at call centres and service locations, and technical automotive roles at all skill levels. Shom continues: "I think having so many career choices within one organization is a big reason we're so attractive to talented people – of all ages – looking for an interesting, varied career."
