BCIC welcomes two new members to its Board of Directors
VANCOUVER, Nov. 8 /CNW/ - BCIC's Chair, PMC-Sierra founder Greg Aasen, announced today the appointment of Robin Ciceri and Cheryl Slusarchuk to BCIC's Board of Directors. Ciceri and Slusarchuk come to BCIC's Board as experts in their respective fields and will serve three-year terms as board members.
"I am excited to welcome both Robin and Cheryl to BCIC's Board," said Aasen. "They each possess an incredible knowledge and understanding of our technology sectors in the province. The experience and expertise Robin and Cheryl bring to the board will be valuable in helping BCIC achieve its mission of promoting the development of entrepreneurs and the commercialization of technology in BC."
- Robin Ciceri is the President of the Research Universities' Council of British Columbia (RUCBC). She has held numerous leadership positions in intergovernmental relations, labour relations and post-secondary education throughout her long and distinguished career in the BC Government. Prior to her post at RUCBC, Ciceri was the Deputy Minister of Advanced Education and Labour Market Development. She has also served as Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Human Resources and the Ministry of Small Business and Revenue. Ciceri is on the board of the British Columbia Technology Industry Association.
- Cheryl Slusarchuk is a partner in the Business Law Group and leader of the Technology Group at McCarthy Tétrault LLP in Vancouver. She practices in the areas of financings, mergers and acquisitions, outsourcing and commercialization arrangements for technology, clean technology and renewable energy companies. Slusarchuk has served as the President of the BC Premier's Technology Council, the Chair of a Green Energy Advisory Task Force and the Chair of the BC Climate Action Team. She is also on the board of the British Columbia Technology Industry Association.
Ciceri and Slusarchuk join board members Jonathan Burke, Gurval Caer, Jock Finlayson, Richard Glickman, Doug Horswill, Greg Kerfoot, Jill Leversage, Martha Salcudean, Morgan Sturdy and Alan Winter in providing direction and leadership to BCIC.
