BCSC alleges that B.C. man obstructed justice
VANCOUVER, Dec. 18, 2017 /CNW/ - The Executive Director of the British Columbia Securities Commission (BCSC) has issued a notice of hearing alleging that Robert Clive Gardner obstructed justice by refusing to give information reasonably required for an investigation.
Gardner, a B.C. resident, is the subject of a BCSC investigation. Gardner has information reasonably required for an investigation. Throughout 2017, BCSC staff communicated with Gardner and his lawyer about Gardner attending an interview to give information regarding the investigation. BCSC staff also took steps to personally serve Gardner with a summons to attend a compelled interview.
As of December 13, 2017, Gardner has failed to give BCSC staff information required to personally serve him with a summons, and failed to attend any of his scheduled interviews.
These allegations have not been proven. Counsel for the Executive Director will apply to set dates for a hearing into the allegations before a panel of commissioners on January 30, 2018 at 10 a.m.
