MONTREAL, Feb. 1, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - The Business Development Bank of Canada's (BDC) people practices are garnering more accolades. For a fourth consecutive time, BDC ranks as one of the Top Montreal Employers, a special designation that recognizes Montreal-area employers that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work.
"Ranking as one of the Top Employers in Montreal and in Canada is a great honour," said Mary Karamanos, Senior Vice President, Human Resources at BDC. "At BDC we place high value on intangibles, such as recognition, learning opportunities and work/life flexibility as we strive to advance a stimulating work environment where employees are engaged and committed to business success. Inspiring our employees to support Canadian entrepreneurs is at the foundation of all our people practices."
This award arrives on the heels of Canada's Top 100 Employers distinction, where BDC was one of the winning companies. In both competitions, employers are judged on the basis of eight criteria that include training and skills development, employee communications, performance management and community involvement.
Mediacorp Canada Inc. reviewed the recruitment histories of more than 75,000 organizations and invited over 12,500 employers across the nation to apply. BDC was selected from a group of over 2,750 companies which started this year's application process.
