MONTREAL, Nov. 9, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - The Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) is proud to announce it has been named one of Canada's Top 100 Employers for 2016, the 10th consecutive year BDC has won this prestigious distinction.
BDC was chosen for the honour in Mediacorp Canada's annual national competition, which acknowledges Canadian employers that offer exceptional workplaces.
"We are proud to be recognized for our efforts to make BDC a great place to work," says Mary Karamanos, Senior Vice President, Human Resources at BDC. "A supportive and inspiring workplace gives our people the tools to better support our entrepreneur clients and stay ahead of best practices and trends."
Mediacorp's editors chose the winners after a detailed assessment of the human resources practices and operations of thousands of large and small employers from a range of industries across Canada.
"BDC is one of only a handful of employers to reach the ten year mark and such an accomplishment should be acknowledged as a unique achievement in itself," said Richard Yerema, Managing Editor, Canada's Top 100 Employers. "For employers like BDC the ability to receive such recognition year-over-year is very much a recognition of an ability and desire to evolve and keep pace with the ever-changing aspects of human resource management and, more generally, changing societal expectations about the nature of work for current and future generations."
Employers were compared in key areas, including training and skills development; employee communications; work atmosphere and social aspects; community involvement; the physical workplace; performance management and vacation and time off.
