BDC one of Canada's Top 100 employers for the fifth consecutive year
MONTREAL, Oct. 15 /CNW Telbec/ - The Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) is pleased to announce that it has been recognized as one of Canada's Top 100 Employers for 2011. This distinction follows recent recognition of BDC as one of the country's top employers for Canadians over 40.
Now in its 11th year, the annual Top 100 Employers competition conducted by Mediacorp Canada Inc. recognizes employers with outstanding workplace environments.
"The fact that BDC has been selected as a Top 100 employer for the fifth consecutive year demonstrates that our people practices have enabled us to attract top performers and build a strong team that proudly supports Canada's entrepreneurs," said Mary Karamanos, Senior Vice-President, Human Resources at BDC. "The strength of our employees was made very clear during the past year when our team made exceptional efforts to help entrepreneurs weather the economic downturn."
BDC works to maintain an engaged workforce by providing an environment that embraces diversity, responds to employees' evolving needs and offers opportunities for growth and development. "We continue to adapt our practices and policies to attract forward-thinking people to our team and we provide an environment in which they can grow and thrive," added Karamanos.
BDC was selected from a group of over 2,750 companies which participated in the Top 100 Employers application process this year. Mediacorp Canada Inc reviewed the recruitment histories of more than 75,000 organizations and invited over 12,500 employers across the nation to apply.
