BDC's Edmée Métivier receives the 2010 Leadership award from the Association
of Québec Women in Finance
MONTREAL, April 16 /CNW Telbec/ - The Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) is proud to announce that Edmée Métivier, Executive Vice President, Financing and Consulting at BDC, was chosen by the Association of Québec Women in Finance (AFFQ) to receive its Leadership award, which was presented at the AFFQ Annual Gala yesterday evening in Montréal.
"From seeing her in action over the past ten years, everyone at BDC already knew what a great leader Edmée is. Now we are very proud to see her recognized as one of the most able and talented women in the financial sector," said Jean-René Halde, BDC President and Chief Executive Officer. "Edmée is a true woman of action, who has mobilized her team to develop BDC's potential and provide increased support to entrepreneurs. We heartily congratulate her."
Armed with a Master of Arts in Practicing Management from Lancaster University in England, Ms Métivier began her career in 1994 at the Royal Bank Financial Group, where she held a number of operational positions. She joined BDC in 2000, and is now responsible for the development and implementation of strategies to sustain the growth of BDC Financing, BDC Consulting and Aboriginal Banking. She also oversees BDC's credit risk management for term loan financing activities.
The Association of Québec Women in Finance has nearly 350 members working in the financial sector in Québec. It was created to contribute to the professional advancement of women and call attention to their strategic role in the economic development of Québec and beyond.
